IT Specialist and Cisco Certified Support Technician Cybersecurity exam transition
In partnership with Cisco, we have launched the new Cisco Certified Support Technician program. The first certification in this program is the CCST Cybersecurity exam.

Currently, the IT Specialist Cybersecurity exam and the CCST Cybersecurity exam are the same, as we created the IT Specialist exam with Cisco before the Cisco Certified Support Technician’s program launch.
Based on this, each program will undergo a transition period where candidates that earn an IT Specialist Cybersecurity exam will also have access to CCST Cybersecurity branded certificate and badges. This is in addition to the certificate and badge they already received for IT Specialist. The capability for accessing both certifications (having taken the exam only once) is only available from June 2023 through June 30, 2024.

We will be sending out an email notifying all candidates who have taken and passed the IT Specialist Cybersecurity exam of these transition plans. IMPORTANT NOTE: The IT Specialist Networking exam and Cisco Certified Support Technician Networking exam will not be affected by this transition as they are two different exams.
How will the exams change after this transition phase?
During this transition phase, we will be working on updating the exams based on the latest industry standards and differentiating the two. After June 2024, the two exams will diverge to offer complementary skills and validation regarding Cybersecurity. Throughout this transition period, we will update our affected customers and provide more information on the exam changes.
How can candidates access their certificate and badge?
Access to candidates’ certificates and badges for these programs are located in the “My Transcripts” section of their Certiport portal and their Credly account. Please allow up to 14 days for the official Cisco certification to appear in your Certiport transcripts.
